‘Prevention is better than Cure’ as the proverb implies knowing the basic information and facts about the killer disease cancer would help a lot to prevent it and what to do if it does strike, could help save more lives.

Around the world, more than 10 million people are diagnosed with cancer each year (World Health Organisation World Cancer Report 2003, International Agency for Research on Cancer).

Parkway Cancer Centre (PCC), Singapore’s leading private cancer centre, announced the launch of its ‘Understanding Cancer’ Webinar Series covering commonly found cancers, types of treatment and prevention.

Starting 24 October, the first webinar of the series is on breast cancer with Senior Consultant of Medical Oncology at Parkway Cancer Centre, Dr Khoo Kei Siong will begin with a web presentation by Dr. Khoo, followed by a question-and-answer session for the audience to have the opportunity to interact with the doctor.

Activities include seminars on latest cancer treatment methods, workshops on cancer nutrition, breast self-examination and exercising for cancer prevention, on-site health screenings, in-conversations with specialists and an all-day health fair.
