Collaboration between Leah Heiss and Nanotechnology Victoria has developed a new range of jewelry with therapeutic properties. Leah Heiss is the first artist to work in residence for about a year, supported by Arts Victoria and the Australian Network for Art and Technology.
This is a new type Diabetes Jewelry comes as a neckpiece and rings for administering insulin through the skin via a nano-engineered patch. You can easily wear this jewel and it can work as a wearable applicator device to apply Nanotechnology Victoria’s Nano MAPs to the skin.

NanoMAPs are small as 10 x 2mm circular discs that have already an array of micro needles on their surface. Normally the discs allow the users to have a pain less delivery of insulin to the body instead of using syringes. Especially they have been designed to keep the Nano-Engineered insulin patches against the skin once they have been applied.
